At 13 years old, I weighed 240 pounds. My struggle with weight was fueled by uncontrolled access to food and life’s early challenges. Food became my comfort, my crutch. While others dismissed my size as genetic, mirroring my father’s larger build, the truth was it was due to bad eating habits and a worse coping mechanism. For years, I wrestled with being overweight and binge eating.
At 22, I stood at a fork in the road. Usually, I would use said fork to twirl some spaghetti, but I knew it was time for a change. Past attempts with dietitians, gyms, and corporate weight loss programs had failed. But this time was different. Something within me clicked.
I dove into online research, revolutionizing my diet and exercise habits. After a month, I lost 10 pounds. Within three months, I shed 40 pounds. The transformation was staggering, both physically and mentally. Achieving my goal filled me with unprecedented energy and confidence. Better yet – I maintained that driving force and kept off the weight until this very day. 80% of people who lose weight regain some or all of their progress. For me, my past struggles kept me motivated.
Now, I’m committed to being that driving force for others. I provide the accountability and guidance I wish I’d had because no one should navigate this journey alone.
